“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.”
-John Muir

Inspired by Bev Bos, the Reggio Emilia Approach, and the Forest School movement, our school is rooted in play-based learning that is student centered, self guided, experimental, hands on, and holistic.

At Boots & Bramble we value the importance of children's connection with nature. We believe children are natural investigators of their surrounding world and are invited to play, explore, create, and reflect in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our integrated curriculum is built to nurture the emotional and intellectual growth of our kids. Through stimulating experiences and hands-on learning opportunities, we meet the individual needs of each child, building on prior experiences and knowledge.

Boots & Bramble is open Monday through Friday

Caring & Dedicated

Owner/ Teacher/Director

Boots & Bramble started as a seed when Mariah was just a teenager, dreaming of creating a space where kids can learn, love, and grow through play and nature. Now, as a mother of two, with over 13 years of experience and a degree in the field of early childhood education, she is delighted to have her dream bloom into reality. Mariah is excited to share her passion, love, and experience to support Boots & Bramble children, families, and the Bellingham community.

Owner/Visiting Teacher

Sam has over 15 years working in early childhood education, the past 8 of which have been working as a Kindergarten Teacher in the Bellingham School District. When he isn't working with his students, he is enjoying his family, gardening, playing music, and riding his bike.  Although he is very dedicated to his kindergarten classroom, Sam is excited to find times to support, play, and learn with the Boots & Bramble community.
